It came as bit of surprise to many Nigerians when Femi Adesina, the special adviser to president Buhari on media and publicity, said there is a plot by some ethnic, religious and past political leaders of the country to overthrow the government of President Buhari. According to the President’s aide, these people behind the alleged plot to overthrow the government are recruiting leaders of some ethnic groups and politicians around the country. He said they have the intention of convening some sort of conference, where a vote of no confidence would be passed on the President Buhari, thus throwing the country into further turmoil.
While this has continued to generate reactions from Nigerians, Shehu Sani, who is a member of the 8th national assembly has shared his reaction.
Responding on his verified twitter account, Senator Sani said there has always been a plot against the Buhari administration and wondered where these plethora of plots against his government are coming from, when Nigerians have already been experiencing plots of bandits and terrorists.
Nigeria has gone through so many forceful overthrow of governments in the past especially during the military regimes and none of them has really helped us as a nation. With our current democracy still very young compared to countries like the UK and the USA which has been practicing democracy for over a century, I pray another overthrow of government never happen in Nigeria.
But what do you make of Shehu Sani's reaction? Please share your views about it.
