An elder and a former national secretary of the peoples democratic party (PDP) during president Jonathan's regime mr. Olisa Metuh has stated that Nigeria is on the verge of breaking down and their party PDP, remains the only option to put the country back on track.Metuh made this statement at his Abuja residence during a meeting with the national working committee of PDP in Thursday. Metuh stated that PDP remains the only hope for Nigeria's unity and development.
“At this point, the PDP remains the viable option to restore hope in the polity, revamp the faith Nigerians have in our nation and save her from collapse.
“Despite my travails and challenges, my confidence in the ideals, values and principles of the PDP, as enshrined by our founding fathers, remain unshaken and it is clear that the party can rescue our nation from her current dire straits.
“Our nation has passed through a lot and the citizens are losing hope in the polity.”
The ex-party's secretary has commended the efforts of national working committee for stabilizing the party and urged them to remain focused in promoting the ideals and values of the founding fathers in the party to showcase the differences between PDO and other parties.
Mr. Metuh also said that the ideals and values are needed now, more than ever before, to save the Nigeria and return her to the path of unity, prosperity and happiness.
Olisa Metuh has been fingered in Dasuki-gate, were he is accused of mismanaging over N400m in the arms money. Dasuki-gate is fraud charge labelled against the former National Security Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.
