The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was established in the year 1973 by the Government of General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd). This program was established as a way of reintegrating the country after the 30 months civil war between Nigeria and the then Republic of Biafra. Since inception of this program, most Nigeria graduates have pass through this scheme. It's a scheme that has seen Nigerians from different parts of the country being posted to other states that they haven't been to. No matter the controversies surrounding this scheme, it's has been a laudable scheme no matter what and I think it should not be scrapped.
The photo above is showing a crippled ex corper by name Eboseremhen Emmanuel who just passed out of the NYSC scheme having served his father land for 1 year. This photo was shared on Facebook and it got people talking. Most people congratulated him and wished him well in life. I couldn't help but admire the young man's courage in finishing school even with his disability and finally going for the NYSC program. Below are screenshots of their reactions..
