Nigeria Would Have Been In Trouble If Peter Obi Had Won 2023 Election Because Of His Intolerance Towards Muslims —Oyo Labour Party Gov. Candidate, Akinwale

Tawfiq Akinwale, the Oyo State Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 governorship election, has said if his party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had won this year’s presidential election, Nigeria would have been in serious trouble.

According to Mr Akinwale, Obi’s attitude shows how intolerant he is to his fellow countrymen who are Muslims. 

Mr Akinwale said this during an interview with Symfoni News, a social media-based news platform, which was monitored by SaharReporters. He blamed Peter Obi for the defection of several of the party's governorship candidates, mainly from the North, to other opposition parties.

He said: “The Peter Obi that you know is a deceit; the Peter Obi that you know is a pretender. All the bigots of this world is (sic) Peter Obi because he is not somebody that should be trusted with the leadership of this country. Glory be to God almighty that did not allow him to win the election. If he had won, Nigerians would have been in a serious problem because of his attitude.

Osinbajo Takes Shettima on Aso Rock Tour

With just a few days left to the May 29 inauguration, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima on a tour of the Vice Presidential Wing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Osinbajo, on Thursday, shared photos from the familiarisation tour on his Twitter handle.

He captioned the pictures;

He wrote, “It was my pleasure to receive VP-Elect Sen. Kashim Shettima and take him on a tour of the Vice Presidential Wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.”

Speaking after the tour, Shettima commended Osinbajo for his kind gesture. He also stated the sole purpose of his visitation was to exchange ideas with Osinbajo on how to move the nation forward.

“On the instance of Vic-President, who is a friend and a contemporary, I came here just to exchange ideas on how to move the nation forward,” he said.

Caretaker Chairman dies hours to swearing-in

Less than 24 hours to his official swearing-in, a newly appointed Caretaker Management Committee Chairman of the Karasuwa Local Government Area in Yobe State, Lawan Karasuwa has died.

He was supposed to have been sworn in on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Reports had it that he died at the Federal Medical Centre Nguru in Yobe State after he drove himself to the health facility on Wednesday.

Before his death, Karasuwa was member of the Yobe State House Of Assembly between 2003 and 2007 and a former Acting State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before he moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

OAU Student’s Murder: Osun CJ To Deliver Judgement May 30

Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, will on Tuesday, May 30, deliver judgement on the alleged murder of ex-Masters student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke.

A hotel owner, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin and six of the staff working with the Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, had been standing trial on 18 counts that include murder, conspiracy and interference with a corpse, following the death of Adegoke, who allegedly lodged in the hotel facility on November 5, 2021, but was found dead the next day.
