The women on the platform of the Aketi group have demanded the deputy governor slot
According to report, the group claimed that Ondo State is the only state in the Southwest where women are not recognised in politics so they call on Governor Akeredolu to pick a woman as a deputy.
The women who are also members and supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in Ondo State demand Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who is contesting for second term in office pick a female for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Agboola Ajayi who was the running mate and current deputy governor of the state decamp to the opposition PDP to seek a chance to contest for the Governorship election.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu will have to pick another running mate for the coming election.
According to the coordinator of the group, Princess Adebunmi Osadahun, speaking with media she lamented that women are not treated equally in Ondo politics. She said only Ondo state in the Southwest women are treated as irrelevant in politics
The group also said they have performed very well in supporting the party struggles but no recognition or political appointment as compensation.
So they are demanding the Governor to consider picking a woman as deputy.
