The Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Magnus Abe, has stated raised alarm over the use of security operatives to rig elections in the state.
Speaking shortly after casting his vote, Abe alleged that Police and Soldiers are currently working together, going from place to place, snatching election materials and taking them to the homes of prominent PDP chieftains in the state.
While thanking the people of the state for coming out in the numbers to vote, he maintained that the election does not meet the required standards.
He said: “We have Police and Soldiers, going from place to place, hijacking election materials and taking them to the homes of prominent PDP chieftains across the state. For a lot of reasons, this election did not meet the required standard. We are however thankful to the people of the state, who came out in the numbers to try to perform their civic responsibility.”
