Recently, Chief Valentine Ozigbo decried the gruesome killings in Anambra state. He also canceled all his campaign activities in the state. The flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the Anambra state governorship election made a statement while marking Nigeria's 61st independence anniversary. A part of the statement read; "In the past few days, we have witnessed an alarming escalation of deadly violence in Anambra. We lost an eminent son and several others in what appears to be a renewed violent campaign by bandits."
Valentine Ozigbo also wrote that he prayed that God would give the Nigerian leaders the courage to do what is right. He called for a stop to all the violent activities in the state especially the killings of innocent citizens. Ozigbo explained that he has canceled all his campaign activities because he believes that all lives are precious and they ought to be protected and preserved.
