Mr Peter Obi from Anambra State can team up with two prominent politicians ahead of the incoming presidential election that has been scheduled to hold in the year twenty twenty-three. The leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have recently zoned the chairmanship position of the opposition party to the northern part of the country. The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the northern part of the country will produce the next chairman of the party. If the national chairman of the party comes from the north, the presidential candidate of the party will come from the south.

Following the incessant demands of the southern governors to produce the next president of the country, the members of the party have considered the southerners for the presidential position in the year twenty twenty-three. The southern part of the country has been saddled with the responsibility of producing the next presidential candidate of the opposition party. The party has many politicians in the southern part of Nigeria that are qualified to serve as the flag bearer of the party, but Peter Obi stands out among others.

Peter Obi has gained knowledge and experience about a national election because he ran alongside Atiku Abubakar in the previous presidential election that took place in the year 2019. The leaders of the party can consider Peter Obi to be the next flag bearer of the party ahead of the incoming presidential election. If Peter Obi decides to run for the presidency in the year 2023, these are two national politicians he can team up with.

1. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso

Kwankwanso is the first politician that Peter Obi can use as his running mate in the year twenty twenty-three presidential election. The northern part of the country produces most of the votes in Nigerian elections, and having a top northern politician as his running mate will benefit Peter Obi in the next presidential election. Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has served as the governor of Kano State for eight years before moving down to the federal level.

The fact that he has occupied those aforementioned crucial positions will give him an avenue to interact with the stakeholders in the northern part of the country. Peter Obi will serve as the flag bearer of the party and Kwankwaso will be his running mate.

2. Bukola Saraki

Before the chairmanship position of the opposition party was zoned to the southern part of the country, some people have already projected Dr Bukola Saraki to be the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general election because of his knowledge and experience about national government. Bukola Saraki has served as the governor of Kwara State before he emerged as the Senate President of the national assembly. Peter will have to worry less about a lot of things if he has Bukola Saraki as his running mate in the upcoming presidential election.
