Shehu Sani reacts to Pastor Tunde Bakare's power rotation comments.

Former senator representing Kaduna Central Federal Constituency, Honorabe Shehu Sani, expressed his opinion regarding the controversial debate about power rotation.

This is on the backdrop of the recent visit paid to the president by Pastor Tunde Bakare, where he reportedly said that power rotation is 'immature' and the focus should be on competence.

Shehu Sani who featured as a guest on the program 'Politics Today' on Channels TV, reacted to the power rotation comments saying "The way the government of the North and South are drawing lines does not foster unity. They need to sit together and deliberate on how to move forward, to keep the country united."

He shared the view that power rotation is not in the constitution, but it may be adopted if it will bring about peace and unity.

Recall that the issue of power rotation and zoning has dominated discussions across the polity. And southern and northern governors are jostling to hold sway come 2023 presidential elections.
