The leader of the Movement of The People (MOP) and Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti says that it will take about 50 years for Yorubas to even have a realistic plan of moving forward as a nation.
Speaking during a live video on Instagram, Seun Kuti said that violence will not yield good results in the ongoing agitation for Oduduwa Republic.
According to him, it is better for every tribe to come together and discuss amicably rather than resort to violence and bloodshed. He said that every tribe in Nigeria needs each other and it will be difficult to separate.
"Our problem needs like fifty years of dedication to see the front, not to fix it but to see how we can balance and then say now we are moving forward", Seun Kuti said.
Seun added that if the ongoing agitations turns to war, it may take 100 years of stress for the nation to recover.
He went ahead to ask where the Yorubas will be getting petrol if they separate owing to the fact that they do not own a refinery.
The Afrobeat star said that the best approach is a referendum and not violence.
