As the PDP National Convention is fast approaching, there seems to be an internal disagreement among the party Chieftains in the Northern Region. According to The Nation, the Loyalists Ex-Senate President, Bukola Saraki have kicked against the micro-zoning of the National Chairmanship Position to the North-Central.
Undoubtedly, Senator David Mark who hails from Benue State is one of the leading Contenders in the National Chairmanship Race. Mark who is a leading Contender is being supported by majority of the PDP Governors and Some Party Leaders.

But Saraki's camp had insisted that the Position should be thrown open to all the Three Geo-political Zones in the North, because the Zoning Committee led by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State was not specific on which of the Geo-political Zones should produce the Next PDP Chairman.

In my opinion, the major reason why Saraki may not support David Mark for the Top Position is because if Mark should emerge as the PDP National Chairman, His (Saraki) 2023 Presidential bid might be at stake, this is because the North-Central cannot produce both PDP National Chairman and the 2023 PDP Presidential Candidate at once.
