The aide to Lagos State Governor, on Drainage and Water Resources, Joe Igbokwe has taken to his social media handle to react to the current peaceful atmosphere being witnessed in Anambra State. It has been of great relief to know that despite contentions about the Anambra State election, the conduct of the election on Saturday, November 6, 2021, was peaceful. There haven't been reports about violence in any of the polling units. The collation of results has also gone on peacefully, through Saturday, and Sunday.
All the people that have played a huge role in ensuring the election is peaceful should be commended. The level of decorum witnessed in Anambra State has been admirable, given the situation of things in the state, some months ago. In the post of the APC party, chieftain, Joe Igbokwe said he hasn't heard of shooting, killing of anybody, or burning of homes in Anambra State in a couple of days now. He asked what had happened? Joe Igbokwe who hails from Anambra State gave God thanks, for the outcome of events.

The stumbling blocks, during preparation for the Anambra State, gubernatorial election, was the incessant attacks on the people of the State, and also on Government facilities, in Anambra State. The wanton attacks were reported being carried out by the group that identifies themselves as the Unknown Gunmen and members of IPOB/ESN. The inconsiderate attacks claimed many innocent lives and the destruction of several properties. You will recall that Joe Igbokwe is one of those who suffered a loss due to the attacks.

The residence of the APC chieftain, in Nnewi, Anambra State was razed down, Igbo Igbokwe openly accused members of IPOB/ESN of the crime. The Nigerian Army rose to the occasion by launching Operation Golden Dawn in the region, and the further order issued by President Muhammadu Buhari to Service Chiefs to ensure, there is a peaceful election in Anambra State. No doubt, we also need to give praise and thanks to God Almighty, for securing the lives of the indigenes of Anambra State, by intervening for violence not to break out in the state.
