Rhodes-Vivour reveals why Ambode could not bring substantial innovations in Lagos state in his 4yrs

Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos state, couldn't accomplish much during his four years in office, according to Labour Party candidate for governor Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour. The GRV claimed that Ambode was elected on a platform that was deliberately crafted to serve the needs of the party's top brass. He claimed that Ambode couldn't make decisions on this kind of platform.

He clarified that a certain class of Lagos state politicians benefits from the state's mediocrity. This, he claimed, explains why a larger segment of Lagos' voters has grown more anti- state in the upcoming election. According to him, a man's plan can be derailed by his godfather, who brought him into power.

"People often ask him how he plans to implement innovations in Lagos State, given that the current system has been in place for more than 20 years, he said. And to illustrate why Ambode was unable to introduce significant innovations into Lagos state, I will use him as an example. It's as a result of the extremely corrupt structure he passed through.

He wanted to bring innovation, but it was all about them and their interests. It's impossible because things don't operate that way. If you have a plan, you don't need an auction to execute it. Because Lagos' mediocrity is advantageous to these people. However, by originating from a different platform and bringing a new voter demographic to the polls, we are enhancing politics in Lagos State".
