APC Can’t Function In Rivers Without Me, Says Abe

Former lawmaker representing Rivers South-East senatorial district, Senator Magnus Abe, has declared that All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot function in Rivers State without people like him, insisting that nobody can wish him away in the the party.

Abe made the declaration a the weekend while addressing APC stakeholders at his country-home in Bera community, Gokana local government area of Rivers State.

He said: “What I came here to do today is to say thank you to my people. When they said they wanted to see me and that they have not seen me, I must come home. I immediately fixed last Sunday to come so that they will see me and I talk to them. There is nobody in Nigeria, there is nobody in Rivers State who will say there is not APC in Gokana.

Alleged nude photos: Court fixes Oct 21 for arraignment of Ohakim

The Federal High Court, Abuja, has fixed Oct. 21 for arraignment of former Imo Governor, Mr Ikedi Ohakim, for allegedly threatening to release nude photos of an Abuja-based woman, Mrs Chinyere Amuchienwa.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, to take over the prosecution of Ohakim from the Inspector-General of Police, at the resumed trial on Monday.

The police had filed criminal charges against Ohakim and Chinedu Okpareke over alleged threat to life and threat to release nude pictures of Amuchienwa.

Anambra police command seeks Public partnership for effective policing

Mr Tony Olofu, Anambra Commissioner of Police, has called for quality partnership between the public and the command in order to achieve the enabling environment for economic and political activities of the state.

Olofu made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday.

He urged members of the public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with security agents in the course of discharging their constitutional duty so as to achieve desired safety and tranquility.
