'It is disappointing to see how low the ruling party has sunk, they are now into fabrications' – GRV

In an interview with Vanguard TV, Gbadebo Rhodes-vivour, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, expressed disappointment at the ruling party in Lagos, the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that they have resorted to creating false narratives. According to Rhodes-vivour, people are engaging in irrational behavior just for political gain.

Rhodes-vivour criticized the ruling party for attempting to turn the political discourse into an ethnic conversation. He noted that the governor had avoided almost five debates, yet the party still seeks to tarnish the opposition with negative rhetoric. Rhodes-vivour finds it disappointing that in a state like Lagos, where he comes from a family with deep roots in the city, people are questioning his Lagosian status and creating false stories.

The Labour Party candidate's comments come amidst ongoing preparations for the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections scheduled for March 18th, 2023, in Lagos State. The state is known to be a key battleground for political parties, with the APC currently holding the governorship position.
