Today, the Nigerian President is celebrating his birthday in Daura, Katsina province, born on 17 December 1942.
In 1971, President Buhari married Safinatu Yusuf, but subsequently divorced her in 1988 and married Aisha Halilu in 1989.
In both marriages, President Buhari had 10 children; Zulaihat (deceased), Fatima, Musa (deceased), Hadiza, Safinatu, Aisha, Halima, Yusuf, Zarah, and Amina.

He is one of the few Nigerians gracious enough to serve in his lifetime as a military head of state and president. From 1983 - 1985, he became the military head of state. On 29 May 2015, he assumed the office of President through a democratically elected process.
