Peter Obi: Ndigbo Played Nzogbu-Nzogbu Politics While Tinubu Stood Against Yoruba President -Umahi

The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi on Monday, said the outcome of the February 25th presidential polls was an expected result. The Ebonyi governor who spoke at the Ebonyi International Airport, Onueke, in the Ezza South Local Government Area of the state, stated that the only "wise thing for the Igbos to do is to tell themselves the truth that they alone cannot make themselves President".

According to him, Ndigbo are yet to understand and learn politics which was evident in Peter Obi's defeat at the polls. Umahi said that Tinubu defied political wind and strategically organised the South West at the time Ndigbo were playing nzogbu nzogbu politics.

He said, “When will Ndigbo understand and learn politics, especially of Nigeria? When Bola Ahmed Tinubu defied the political wind and stood out as the ‘only man standing’ against a sitting President of Yoruba descent, no one accused him of being ‘anti-Yoruba’. Under Tinubu, the South-West strategically organised. But Igbos, in their frenzied Nzogbu nzogbu politics, have sadly found themselves in a political cul de sac. Tragic indeed! When will my people smell the morning coffee?”

Speaking further, the Ebonyi Governor said that Peter Obi's defeat vindicated the Governor of Anambra who predicted it and was criticised for it.

What do you think about this?
