INEC Was Only Being Innovative, Transmission Of Result Is Not A Provision Of The Law-Danjuma Mohammed

Nigerians are still questioning the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transmit election results electronically in real-time (that is right there at various polling units), and this has made some people to say that the election was not credibe and transparent as the commission didn't keep to their promise.
An APC Chieftain, Danjuma Mohammed seems to have a contrary opinion on the transmission of electron results electronically, and according to him, transmitting results in real-time is not a simultaneous process (that is transmitting results to IReV while voting process is still on).
Speaking on Trust TV, Danjuma Mohammed said that INEC was just being innovative by bringing transmission of results electronically as an additional provision for transparency. He stated that it is not a provision of the Electoral Act.
In his words, he said:
"In real-time is not simultaneously. INEC was just being innovative by bringing that as an additional provision of the Electoral Act for transparency. It is not a provision of the Electoral Act.
You cannot expect INEC to begin to receive and then simultaneously post (results) before declaration, it will be a gross contravention of the Electoral Act."
