The NCDC has released its daily covid-19 situation update for Saturday, July 18. Fr the update, the country today recorded 653 new cases of the coronavirus, with the total number of recorded cases now sitting at 36,107, with 14,938 cases discharged, while 778 deaths have been recorded till date.

Lagos-115, Kwara-85, Enugu-80, FCT-78, Rivers-36, Ondo-35, Oyo-30, Katsina-28, Kaduna-19, Abia-19, Nasarawa-18, Plateau-17, Imo-16, Ogun-9, Ebonyi-9, Benue-9, Kano-9, Delta-8, Bauchi-7, Ekiti-6, Gombe-4, Bayelsa-4, Adamawa-4, Osun-4, Cross River-1, Yobe-1, Borno-1, Zamfara-1
Lagos state had the highest amount off infections today with 115, as the State continues to be the hardest hit in the country. It's total now stands at 13,341- by far the most of any state in the Federation.
The FCT is the next worst hit state, with it's 78 confirmed cases on Saturday taking its total to 2,957, while Oyo State is third and the only other state to have crossed 2000 cases, with 2,106. Edo State is next on the overall charts with 1,885 cases confirmed since the outbreak began, while 1,516 cases have been confirmed positive in Rivers state till date.
Enugu state recorded 80 cases in Saturday, and this surge has moved the state up to 12 in the charts, with a new total of 675.
At the bottom, Kogi State remains the least affected state, with just five cases reported till date, while Cross River state, the last new state in the country to report a case, has had 13 in total.
All states and the FCT have recoded cases of covid-19.
