Notable Things Osinbajo Said About Ken Nnamani: A Motivation To Present Day Leaders

The vice president, in one of his recent statements, extolled the leadership capabilities of a former Senate President of the country who was an Igbo extraction. Sen. Ken Nnamani is among the politicians in Nigeria that performed outstandingly in their political career. He was the president of the Senate from 2005 to 2007 at the time when Olusegun Obasanjo was the President of the country. It is indeed to the pride of the Nigeria's political system that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo found great pleasure in citing Ken Nnamani as a role model to the present day leaders of the country.

However, here are two notable things Osinbajo said about Ken Nnamani that should serve as a motivation to our present day leaders.

1. Ken Nnamani lacks "the desperation to occupy political office"

Yemi Osinbajo has praised Ken Nnamani on the basis that he was not desperate to occupy any seat of Power. This is an outstanding quality the vice president found in him that has placed him as a high achiever in politics. Most times, it is common in our world today to have politicians who are only desperate to take over political positions, but they lack the zeal to serve. Osinbajo commended Ken Nnamani for the zeal he exhibited in his service as a former president of the Senate.

2. Ken Nnamani showed a "strong leadership" prowess

Prof Yemi Osinbajo vividly expressed that Sen. Ken showed "strong leadership" when he stood firmly against Obasanjo's third term agenda in 2007, despite facing the risk of losing his senate presidency. Hence, the commendable "strong leadership" of Ken Nnamani has served as an avenue to motivate and strengthen current leaders to see the need to showcase strong leadership, especially at a time like this where the country is facing lots of security and economic challenges.
