It has been reported by SaharaReporters, that former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, is being pressure to defect to the ruling party 'All Progressive Congress' and run for president in 2023 Nigeria general election with the Kaduna State Governor, El-Rufai, as his running mate.

According to SaharaReporters, a source told them that President Jonathan had surprised the northern elite and the ruling party cabals that despite all the dirt and campaign of calumny thrown at him before the 2015 Presidential election, and the glaring failure of of the Buhari government, GEJ had not openly criticize the Buhari administration, unlike ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.

However, Nigerian social-political activist and co-convener of 'Bring Back Our Girls Movements' Aisha Yesufu, has reacted to the News. In a post she shared on her Twitter page, Aisha Yesufu, said it was a smart plan by the APC. According to her, "Those who are angry that Jonathan wasn't voted will have the opportunity."

She went further to state that, "Many gullible ones will be told he is back to restore cost of things to where it used to be and Niger/Delta, will again have opportunity."
