The news of Academic Staff Union Of Universites (ASUU) suspending its protracted strike has been received with jubilations by Nigerian students. But the jubilations were swept away by the rising cases of Covid19 as government orders closure of schools.
ASUU has been on strike since March 2020, and after all signs points to resumption of academic activities in public universities then boom coronavirus strikes again.
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani tweeted on his twitter handle about this infortunate event.
The Ivory gate that was closed and opened by ASUU is now closed by #COVID19
The Ivory gate is public universities that were closed due to ASUU strike and opened after ASUU suspends its strike. Now the gates were closed again due to Covid19.
