"Why Do Politicians Call For Annulment Of An Election After Losing? Obi Did So" - Femi Fani-Kayode.

Amid ongoing public uproar that has greeted the outcome of the just-concluded Presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, across the country, a well known Nigerian politician, APC chieftain, former Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former Special Assistant to the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani-Kayode while sharing via his official Twitter page has asked why do Nigerian politicians always call for annulment of a free and fair election after they lose? Adding that the former governor of Anambra State and Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Gregory Obi did so after he lost to the former governor of Lagos State and Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu, in the 2023 Presidential election.

According to the former Minister of Advocate and Director of News Media for the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential campaign council, Femi Fani-Kayode, he noted Nnamdi Azikiwe did so (called for annulment of a free and fair election) after Shagari won the election in 1979, Nzeribe did so after Abiola won the 1993 election, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, did so after Bola Tinubu won the 2023 election.

He said, "Why do Nigerian politicians call for the annulment of a free and fair election after losing and for the scrapping of the Electoral Commission that conducted it? Zik did so after Shagari's 1979 election, Nzeribe did so after Abiola's 1993 election, and Obi did so after BAT's 2023 election".
