Throwback To When Goodluck Jonathan Assured Nigerians That Their Challenges Will Soon Be Over

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan gave an assurance to Nigerians that the challenges which are stunting the growth of the nation will soon be a story of the past.

Jonathan gave the assurance in August 2012 at the Presidential Villa while granting the audience to the then outgoing British High Commissioner to the country, Mr. Andrew Lloyd who paid him a farewell visit.

According to the former President, his administration was obligated to transforming and implementing policies and measures that would help Nigeria to triumph over its current challenges specifically, security.

While he was congratulating the commissioner for improving the already excellent bilateral relations between Nigeria and Great Britain significantly during his regime, he lauded Mr. Andrew Lloyd's struggle to boost trade and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Britain, stating that “We shall go on to count on your support and I hope your successor will continue your good work here in our country,” he told Lloyd.

Goodluck Jonathan was the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2007-2015 when Buhari succeeded him.
