Why Shekarau May Dislodge the Political Dominance of Governor Ganduje from Kano Politics

The political rift between incumbent Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the former governor of the state who is also Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, may lead to the displacement of political dominance of Governor Ganduje if the political rift is not, amicably, settled.

Notably, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is, sincerely, losing some of the political heavyweight in Kano State to the side of former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shekarau, in the course of the political tussle between the two leaders.

The recent alignment of some political stalwarts who are members of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kano State during the last Saturday's State Congress is an enough indication to show that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's political dominance is being weakened.

Noticeably, two of the three members of the National House of Assembly that came from Kano State seem to be in, fair, political concord with Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District, Barau Jibril, is actually not in line with the political style of Governor Umar Ganduje. Senator Barau Jibril was present at the parallel congress that was held at Janguza, Tofa Local Government Area of the state where loyalists of former Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau gathered for their parallel congress.

Also, three of the members of the House of Representatives who were elected under the platform of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), are currently not in good mood with Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano State.

Tijjani Abdulkadri Jobe, member representing Dawakin Tofa and Rimingado Federal Constituency; Haruna Isa Dederi, member representing Karate and Rogo Federal Constituency and Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, member representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency have all pledged their loyalties for the course of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.

Considerably, the political doggedness of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje may suffer severe setback, if he fails to reconcile with the aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who are being grouped under the leadership of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.
