It could be reed that some of the prominent leaders and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have make, strategic, decision to hold the National Convention of the party, in the bid to resolve the crisis rocking the party and clear ground for the party's chances to emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections.

The decision of the leaders and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had led the party into reaching logical conclusion on the zoning of the party's national chairmanship position to the North.

The zoning of the national chairmanship position of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the North could be, logically, considered as a great move by the party.

It is important to recall that the major political parties in Nigeria have, strategically, endorsed a democratic principle which ensure that if the presidential ticket of a political party is zoned to the South, the national chairman of the same political party emerges from the North. Considering this principle, it could be logically concluded that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may pick her presidential candidate from the Southern part of Nigeria.

Probably, if everything remains the same, with the zoning arrangement of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), there are two prominent members of PDP from the Southwest who may pick the presidential ticket of the opposition party, in 2023.

One, the possibility of former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola to throw-in the cap to contest the 2023 presidential elections under the platform of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may not be underrated.

The administrative experience that has been gathered by Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola when he was serving as the Executive Governor of Osun State between 2003 and 2010 may, considerably, promote his presidential ambition under the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), if he decides to join the race.

Also, the political connections that Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola might have created when he was, recently, contesting for the national chairmanship position of PDP may assist to better project his presidential ambition, if he decide to join the race.

Secondly, former Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose could be considered as another potential presidential candidate of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The political experience of Peter Ayodele Fayose when he was serving as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State could, surely, be considered as a merit that may promote the presidential ambition of Ayodele Fayose, if he decides to join the presidential contest.

The political doggedness of Ayodele Fayose and his strong relationship with prominent members of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may also give live to his presidential ambition, if he decides to join the presidential race.
