Another Nationwide Strike Begins - Sahara Reporters
Another nationwide strike has yet again begun as the judiciary workers under the judiciary staff union of Nigeria, JUSUN, shut down the supreme court in FCT, Abuja.
It was reported that earlier today, members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, began a nationwide strike as they marched to Abuja to shut down the Supreme Court.
According to reports, the members of JUSUN also chased out staff from the courtroom in FCT, Abuja.
Sahara Reporters stated that JUSUN launched an indefinite nationwide strike over its request for financial independence for the judiciary.
Army And ESN Members Engage In A Gun Battle - Sahara Reporters
Earlier today, it was reported that according to the federal government's directives, the army troops and security operatives have engaged members of the Eastern Security Network.
According to reports, the Nigerian army was deployed by the FG to the Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Meanwhile, some residents of the community reported series of gunshots between the army troops and members of the Eastern Security Network, ESN.
A source said, "I haven't been able to leave my bedroom. The continuous gunshots between the army and the ESN operatives are causing tension in the community."
"Everyone is scared. We've not been able to resume our daily activities because of the gunshots", the source added.
President Muhammadu Buhari Appoints New IGP - Daily Post
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has publicly appointed DIG Usman Alkali Baba as the new Inspector-General of Police.
It was reported that the President made this decision while the ex IGP, Mohammed Adamu was on official duty in Imo State.
Recall that a few days ago, a prison facility in Owerri, Imo State, was attacked by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The prior IGP, Mohammed Adamu had blamed members of the IPOB for the recent attack on the Owerri Prison facility.
