Two Ways APC Can End PDP Dominance In Delta State

The PDP has been the only party that has been controlling Delta State since 1999 when the country returned to democracy. The party has been enjoying the supports of the Delta electorates but the APC can actually put an end to the dominance if it (APC) uses two ways.

The PDP began to rule Delta State in 1999 when Mr. James Ibori was elected and reelected in 2003. Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan took over and he also spent 8 years in the Delta State Government Secretariat, Asaba. After him, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa was elected. But the APC needs to break this pattern once and for all and end the dominance of the PDP.

The first way that the party can use to end PDP dominance is by looking for all means to attract more top leaders of the PDP in the state. If the People's Democratic Party continues to have its top members, the All Progressives Congress would find it impossible to win Delta State.

Mr. Peter Nwaoboshi was the most powerful politician to have joined APC in Delta State in recent time. Few days after he was suspended from the PDP, he announced his defection to the APC. The top senator used to be the PDP chairman in Delta State. His defection would adversely affect the PDP and positively contribute to the APC.

Summarily, the APC needs to attract more and more PDP members. This approach would make the ruling PDP lose its stalwarts and open the way to power to the APC.

The second way is that top leaders of the APC needs to drop their differences and embrace one another. The All Progressives Congress can rely on a number of top politicians in Delta State and all what they need to do is to work together for the common interests of the party.

The deputy senate president Ovie Omo-Agege, Mr. Festus Keyamo, Peter Nwaoboshi and a host of others need to work together and if they really team up, the dominance of the PDP would be ended once and for all. Note that it would be a duty for them to lead the party to victory in 2023.

There is a court verdict from Delta State. The verdict has affected the national caretaker committee. The court declared that the chairman of the committee, Mai Mala Buni, should stop parading himself as the chairman of the caretaker committee. If the matter isn't nipped in the bud, the APC may lose Delta State again.

Mr. Festus Keyamo, Ovie Omo-Agege and others need to come together and look into the matter. If they can build their house and work as a team, they will end PDP dominance and make the All Progressives Congress have some footholds in Delta State.
