The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Ondo State Chapter, called on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to order the issuance of letters of appointment to the civil service promised by the governor to its members.
At a media appearance marking the 3rd anniversary of the administration, the governor vowed to integrate 30 individuals with disabilities into the civil service of the state.
The Secretary-General of the Group, Comrade Abiodun Olusegun, stated, however, in a statement that this had yet to be applied, as all attempts to secure a letter of appointment for beneficiaries had been met with a brick wall. He appealed to the governor to personally review the situation with a view to providing relief to recipients who had waited indefinitely to fulfill the governor's obligations.
Comrade Olusegun also expressed his appreciation for the concerns of the administration of the association, which included the appointment of one of them as Special Assistant, the creation of the Disability Welfare Agency with another member as Chairman and the regular payment of annual grants to the community.
