There has been growing concern over the Muslim Muslim ticket picked by the All Progressive Congress to win the 2023 election. Despite their victories at the polls, a lot of people have tilted this victory to one caused by religious bias in certain parts of the country. The APC National Women Leader, Betta Edu has allayed the fear of some Nigerians about the Muslims dominance in top positions. She stated categorically that Bola Tinubu is not a Religious bigot.
She argued further that Tinubu has instead given the Christians a seat at the table of power before his inauguration. She revealed how Tinubu played a key role in ensuring that Senator Godswill Akpabio gets selected as the APC consensus Candidate for the Leadership of the 10th Assembly.
She said, ''Tinubu has given the Christians a seat at the table of power even before his inauguration. I'm a Christian and my party has produced the first Priest as governor in the history of Nigeria. Bola Tinubu is not a religious bigot, he's one who will be for all Nigerians. If you look around him, his dear wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu is a Pastor and a Christian. This is a government about the people. And indeed Religion will not becloud his feeling.''
