IReV: Two Weeks After Presidential Election INEC Yet To Upload Complete Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission has not yet uploaded the complete results from all polling units to its Results Viewing portal, also known as IReV, exactly two weeks after the presidential election.

According to checks conducted by Reporters the commission has uploaded 166,168 results from 176,846 polling locations. A percentage representing 93.96 percent of all results from all polling places. With only 166,168 results uploaded, 10,678 polling places have yet to upload their results to the commission's result viewing portal.

Nigerians anticipated that the election results would be uploaded on election day, as promised by Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of INEC. As a result, INEC was criticized for failing to upload the results to its viewing portal, which prompted some party agents to leave the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

Recall that despite opposition parties' protests, INEC declared Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, to be the President-elect, with nearly 8.8 million votes, while Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi received 6.9 million and 6.1 million votes, respectively.
