The political party of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has described its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a grassroots politician who understands the ambition of Nigerian youths.
This was revealed by Mr. Yakubu Ajaka, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the political party during a town hall meeting in London recently. He expressed assurance that only the APC presidential candidate can give the youths an opportunity to participate and contribute to the emergence of a new Nigeria.
He explained that the involvement of young Nigerians in the cabinet of Tinubu during his tenure as the governor of Lagos state was a clear indication that he has the youths in his agenda. He encouraged the youths most especially those in Diaspora to work towards changing the country positively though national unity and speedy development.
In summary, he said: “As it is common with developing democracies such as ours, the selection of candidates for the parties always comes with various challenges, mostly based on sentiments such as religion, ethnicity and geo-political arrangements. Unfortunately, we seem to throw away competence, capacity and qualification to these sentiments which is partly responsible for our present predicament”.
