The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, announced the results, and he completely distanced himself from them.

Bassey said, "Everyone's spirits are low; the Labour Party was only a temporary phenomena. a case where a relatively inexperienced lawmaker lost the House of Representatives election to someone who didn't even produce a poster. It is an extremely exceptional occurrence, and the tsunami in question was total.
"All other parties will now be impacted by the Labour Party's victory in the state, but thankfully for us, the LP does not have a candidate for governor; otherwise, we would have had problems."
