Presidential elect, Joe Biden is planning a small inauguration ceremony to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.

Presidential elect, Joe Biden says he plans a small scale inauguration ceremony for safety's sake of the individuals that will attend the ceremony during the coronavirus pandemic. Joe Biden says he is expected to be sworn in on the 20th of January, 2020 on the platform already being constructed by the US Capitol, but he said he does not want the venue to be crowded due to the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection.

Joe Biden mentioned that "My guess is there probably will not be a gigantic inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. But my guess is you will see a lot of virtual activity in states all across America, engaging even more people than before" in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. He also said that "People want to celebrate, people want to be able to say that they have passed their baton. We are moving on, Democracy has functioned".

Donald Trump has not conceded defeat yet for the US Election and has not said if he will attend the inauguration ceremony.
