The renowned activist said this while inaugurating Cross River State chapter of Project Niger Delta in Calabar, the state capital.
He wondered why a lot of youths in the country should still be unemployed when the country have so much in abundance to take care of everyone.
He said the vision of the group is to promote patriotism, fight corruption, ensure that the right people are encouraged into public governance to deliver efficient result as well as fight unemployment in the country by engaging critical stakeholders in other to create jobs.
Comrade Ebebi said the target of the group was a total membership of about 15million people across the country that will unite to propagate the ideals, goals and vision of the group.
He charged the state Exco to be firm in their decision and ensure they stay in line with the vision and goals of the group while aiming at building youths of impeccable character and faith in the country.
“ I call on the fresh and energetic Exco who are ready to showcase the programs of PND to stand firm and tall by defending our essential targets in other to achieve our core mandates without any fear”
He urged them to focus on how to change the narrative through positive programs that would improve the overall standard of the people in Cross River State.
According to him, PND is a distinct group that is ready to speak for the generality of the Niger Delta and Nigerians. “our desire is to speak for the generality of Nigerians by bringing the needed developments to the people. Also, support financially morally and psychologically any viable candidate that can listen to the plights of the people”
Project Niger Delta is a pressure group that aims to promote peace and good governance in the Niger Delta and Nigeria in general. The Inauguration of Cross River State chapter brings to six, the numbers of state Exco so far Inaugurated, including Bayelsa, Delta, Ondo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers State.
The 19 member Cross River State Exco will be led by renowned lawyer Paul Ebiala, while Hon. Ekpenyong Akiba will serve as the state secretary. Madam Bajie Patience Oscar as women leader among others.
