The Presidential Task force Chairman Boss Mustapha frowned on the use Hand sanitizers that are not registered with National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
He disclosed this in a statement during the presidential task force briefing in Federal Capital (FCT) on Thursday.
He disclosed that many hand sanitizers been purchased by residents in Abuja are not registered with National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and are mostly home made or other branded products with no NAFDAC registration number.
He also stated that from investigations carried out 63% of Hand sanitizers are not registered and advised residents to buy their sanitizers from credible sources because its on the measures outlined by the government.
He advised Nigerians to desist from using this pandemic as a means to make more profit by marketing non registered Hand sanitizers to other residents.
The PTF chairman promised that the government would continue to monitor developments and communicate with Nigerians in the most effective ways, the risks associated with contracting the virus.
He, however, urged the people to comply with the non pharmaceutical measures put in place by the relevant authorities to ensure proper safety of all the residents within and outside the states.
