Maiduguri is a state located in the northeastern part of Nigeria. For more than ten years, the state has been under heavy attack due to the nefarious activities of the dreadful Islamic terrorist group called Boko Haram. The group has for several years caused untold pain and hardship to the people of Maiduguri and Nigeria in general.

Many homes, businesses, properties worth billions of naira have been destroyed. Currently, Borno State has the highest number of internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the country. In 2014, under the leadership of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, about 276 secondary school girls in Chibok government school were kidnapped. At the moment some of the girls are still under the custody of Boko Haram.

The executive governor of the state Babagana Zulum is a determined leader trying everything possible within his reach to make sure that the state moves forward. He is an altruistic leader with vision and foresight. No doubt, the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari would mean a lot to him and the people of Borno State.
