Akpabio's defense at the National Assembly was the height of all political activities in the country yesterday July 20, 2020.
In fact, the House of Representative probe overshadowed the President's, Chief of Staff, and Lt. Gen. Buratai's meeting at the Aso Rock Villa.
Apart from the melodrama that distorted the probe for a while, caused by the unexpected and episodic falling of Prof. Pondei Daniel Kame. Akpabio's presentation was a masterpiece. He showed high command of authority.
Well, the unpalatable truth that got everyone amazed was the fact that Akpabio told Nigerians that "most contracts of the NDDC are awarded to NASS. In other words NASS are the major beneficiary of the jobs in NDDC.
The revelation was an eye opener. The comment made by Akpabio simply informs everyone the official fraud in this country. It is now clear to the Niger Deltans that the NASS members are the root problems in the NDDC's inability to perform.
The unpalatable truth brings to focus that a single individual collected 300 NDDC jobs for himself and cronies. Akpabio's comment came as a shock to Hon. Boma G. (Rivers State) who challenged Senator Akpabio for details. In response, Senator Akpabio said that "you might be aware the Chairman and Deputy Chairman will confirm this fact"
To my greatest shock! Akpabio was requested to discontinue with the comment and further requested to put off his mic.
The questioning becomes why didn't the Hon. members request Senator Akpabio to furnish them further details.
In conclusion, I think NASS probe is a charade.
