According to report reaching my desk from The Punch Newspaper, notorious men who were suspected to be cattle herders went violent on three women in a farmland in the Irele areas of the Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, where the women reside in. The South West region had complained on several occasions that their territory is no longer safe because of the incessant attacks by cattle herdsmen.
According to report made by The Punch, the suspected Herdsmen attacked the women with machetes after they refused to comply to their request. The armed men reportedly requested to sleep with them which they turned down. It's been reported that the women are currently at the General Hospital, Ikole Ekiti receiving treatment.

According to one of the sources, the notorious men who were six in number, stormed the women residence and alledgedly asked for money. The armed men got angry when the women told them they only got N200 with them. The suspected herdsmen collected the money and made an attempt to sleep with them forcefully. It was the refusal of the women to let them have their way that led to the attack on them before the attackers disappeared into the bush.
