Opinion: 2 Things Ize-Iyamu Should Do After Gov Obaseki Revoked 18 Hectares Of Land Belonging To Him

The Edo State Governorship election that took place in 2020 was quite an interesting one, the top candidates Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu that contested in the Governorship election earlier contested in 2016, under the platform of the All Progressive Congress and People's Democratic Party respectively.

In 2020, Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu contested in the People's Democratic Party and All Progressive Congress. The change of political party prior to the Edo state 2020 Governorship election, came as a shock to many Nigerians.

It has been reported that Governor Godwin Obaseki has revoked 18 hectares of land belonging to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. This of course is an action that came as a surprise to many Nigerians and when some surprising things like this occur, it is expected of the victim to react and take an action that is not illegal.

In my opinion, there are 2 things Ize-Iyamu should do after Governor Godwin Obaseki revoked 18 hectares of his land.

1. Ize-Iyamu should visit him and discuss.

I believe there are some things that should not be discussed on the phone, depending on its nature of importance and location of the concerned parties. It is not enough for Osagie Ize-Iyamu to call Governor Godwin Obaseki over the phone and discuss why his land was revoked.

I think he should visit Governor Obaseki in his residence or his office and discuss why his ownership of the 18 hectares of land in Edo state was revoked.

2. Ize-Iyamu can decide to take him to court if the discussion was not fruitful.

This of course is a legal action, and I suggest that this should not be the first action of Ize-Iyamu, this should be carried out after if the discussion he had with Governor Godwin Obaseki was not fruitful. In the sense that maybe Governor Obaseki refused to listen to his plea or they didn't come to an agreement that profited both parties.

What is your own opinion about this matter?
