A ritual almost every Nigerian university graduate goes through after they graduate is to go for a year's National youth service(NYSC) in any state of their choice except their state of origin, state of residence, and the state they graduated from. Because of this, most Nigerian graduates usually choose states that are more peaceful with less violence for their NYSC choices. This has led most graduates to opt for some particular states, thereby causing an overflow of choices of a state. When such happens, the NYSC organizers on their own discretion will choose a state for the graduates and post them there.
This is what happened to the case of a Nigerian graduate who aired his frustration on Twitter last year after he was posted Adamawa State where terrorism is rampant in the Northern part of Nigeria while neither his choices of States was even any of the State in Northern Nigeria. Below was his post last year;
Now one year later;
What happened a year later is that even though Adamawa state wasn't his preferred state, he put sentiments aside and did his one-year youth service in Adamawa state. And today he will be completed his service and was given the certificate of service.
So what do you think, would have preferred to serve in Adamawa state or pursued a change of state?
