The PDP has promptly responded to Adams Oshiomhole's, who on arriving his home town told supporters that he will unseat Obaseki from Edo government house, in a seeming attack, within which he referenced Obaseki as a snake that must be smoked out (of the house of the APC), while announcing his regret of supporting Obaseki into Edo government house in 2016.
The PDP's National Campaign Council on Edo Governorship Election has referred to Adams Oshiomhole, the deposed APC national chairman as a bitter and frustrated loser with no current political significance, as Godwin Obaseki has denied him the Edo state fund he had desired. The PDP also added that Oshiomhole is crying because as a political baby, the feeding bottle of Edo state fund has been removed from his mouth; since Obaseki prefers to develop the state than to be fund-feeding Oshiomhole, to the detriment of the state.
The statement to the media, by Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan the national publicity secretary of the PDP, who also is the Secretary of the Publicity Sub-committee of the PDP's nations council on Edo election, captured this. And it also says, “Indeed, if there will be any snake in the Edo political firmament, it should be Adams Oshiomhole himself, who like that old forked-tongue serpent, has betrayed the people of Edo State by offering them the same individual he exposed as a thief, acid bather and a rusticated student, who, according to him, is only good for ‘night meetings’ and should not be trusted with the position of the governor of Edo State as a gubernatorial candidate". This is so apt; for Edo people, except a few who were directly benefiting from Oshiomhole when hr was chairman, see him as an anathema, a being that should be left alone to himself. This is because, besides his bad governance in his second term as the governor of Edo state, Oshiomhole has been at the forefront, leading those fighting Obaseki who has returned hope to the Edo people, with good governance.
Recall that Oshiomhole's unguided utterances and un-cautioned fight against Obaseki, for not making him the godfather, led to his deposition from the APC chairmanship, it also led to his suspension from the party at the state level, and also led to the APC's lost of a South South state in the Nigerian political sphere. Meaning Oshiomhole is currently under suspension as an APC party member in Edo state.
Oshiomhole had said that Obaseki was like a snake in the APC, that needed to to smoked out of the house, according to him, when some supposed APC leaders approached him of Obaseki all age misdeed.. Meanwhile, Now Obaseki is no more in the APC; therefore it seems Obaseki being in the APC was/is never the problem, but him being Edo governor who has resolved never to share Edo state money among party members/leaders, but to invest it in the development of the state, was and is Oshiomhole's headache. This is where PDP description of him, becomes so appropriate.
