Onoh begs Igbos in Lagos to re-elect Sanwo-Olu

The South East Presidential campaign spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Josef Onoh has pleaded with Igbos residing in Lagos to re-elect Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on March 11

Onoh, in a statement, said that Sanwo-Olu has shown affection and support for the Igbos in Lagos in the past four years and deserves reciprocation from well-meaning Igbos who are good tenants and have over the years shown fidelity in project Lagos State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has vowed to punish its officials, including ad-hoc or collation personnel, who may have been found wanting in the conduct of the Saturday, February 25 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this on Saturday in Abuja at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners.

He said, “As we approach the Governorship and State Assembly elections, we must work harder to overcome the challenges experienced in the last election. Nothing else will be acceptable to Nigerians.

“All staff found to be negligent, whether they are regular or ad hoc officials, including Collation and Returning Officers, must not be involved in forthcoming elections. 

APC, LP Disagree Over Attack On Obi.

The All Progressives Congress Campaign Council has accused the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, of taking advantage of the emotions of the Nigerian youth and riding on the wave of religiosity and ethnicity.

It said Obi would go down in history as the country’s most dangerous and divisive politician.

The Special Adviser on Media and Communication of the PCC, Dele Alake, stated this at a press conference in Abuja.

Okowa to Church leaders: 'Please support PDP'

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has appealed to the Isoko Church Leaders Council in Delta to support the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Mr Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 11 Governorship election.

Okowa made the appeal on Friday at a meeting with members of the Isoko Church Leaders Council held at God’s Fountain of Life Mission, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

The governor also urged them to vote for all the PDP candidates for the Delta House of Assembly in various constituencies across the state.
