Yobe governor reshuffles cabinet, creates new ministries

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Alhaji Baba Wali, the Governor of the State, Mai Mala Buni, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle after the establishment of new ministries.

According to Alhaji Wali, the governor has approved the creation of a new Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation which will be head by Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, former Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture.

Also, a new ministry 'Yobe Geographic Information System' has been established. With the establishment of YOGIS, the Ministry of Land and Solid Minerals ceases to exist or rather subsumed into YOGIS.

This means that the responsibility of administration and management of land matters including issues relating to land allocation, title registration, use, searches, charting, cadastral, planning and other responsibilities as may be determined by the governor have been transferred to YOGIS.

Thus, the former Commissioner for Land and Solid Minerals, Alhaji Mohammad Lamin, has been moved to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture.
