People will see a rich man doing great and mighty things that you will expect from a person of his caliber, and they will say vanity upon vanity, please which vanity? Many will say money is the root of all evil, but i dare to say the lack of money or the excess love of money is the root of all evil. How can one even be comfortable with being poor, if you ask me I’ll say poverty is of the devil. Today I’ll be talking about money, plenty money, I’ll be talking about a man who has been able to accumulate so much wealth in his life time.

The money that many people call vanity is the same money this man is using to make a change in the the world. This man is a versatile business mogul who has major stake in the wealth of the country, he controls a substantial amount of wealth in the country, he has stake in several sectors, including the financial sector, the oil sector and also the telecommunications sector. He is a Yoruba man, an indigene of Oyo State, Ibadan to be precise, the 67 year old man had his primary and secondary school education in Oyo State before he went on to Northwestern Oklahoma University and Pace University for his tertiary education. While in School he drove cab to support himself and pay for his tuition. When we are talking about wealthy people in Nigeria, his name has to be on the list of top 5, because he is the second richest man in Nigeria, with an accumulated wealth of $5.7 billion dollars according to Forbes. He married two wives and birthed seven children.

His wealth is not without controversy, in 2009, he was detained by EFCC, for money laundering, he subsequently left Nigeria to live in London before he was granted pardon during the tenure of late President Umaru Musa Yaradua. In 2016, it was in the news that his company was owing a debt of $140.5 million that it refused to pay to those they were owing. One of his company, Bellop was also served an injunction by a Lagos state high court for a $9.4 million debt. We have been talking about no other person but the business mogul and oil magnate, Mike Adenuga. He is the chairman of Conoil and also the founder of Globalcom telecommunications company, he also has major shares in a financial institution. Adenuga has accumulated much wealth, so much that it has changed his life and lives of those around him.

Adenuga made his first million at the age of 26, selling lace and distributing soft drinks. It is time we the youths take our lives seriously and not just be wasting it on irrelevances, accumulate wealth invest, take risks and don’t just be a Twitter warrior. Let’s stop the vanity upon vanity mentality, it is God’s will for you to live a wealthy and enjoyable life. Let’s stop criticizing rich people at every given opportunity, it is not their fault that we are where we are. What comes to your mind when you hear the name Wale Adenuga? How’s glo network in your area today? Repeat after me, I will not be poor. I pray that the knowledge, power and direction to make make you rich will be expressly given to you by God. Enough money to make a change in your generation is your portion. Poverty is a really bad thing, asides being financially poor, don’t have a poor mind, it is destructive.
