Indeed, Gov. Obaseki's Camp Is Strong And They Do Not Feel Threatened By Oshiomole's Return[Opinion]

Very recently the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole, was given a grand reception on his arrival the airport in Edo State.

We understand that he has returned to him home State, to do everything legally possible to make Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, come out tops in the Edo State Governorship elections, come September 19. We have also heard amd read that the former Governor of Edo State, will not leave the State, till after the elections.

In my opinion, Adams Oshiomole's return to support Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, is not out of place, but may not have as much effect as expected.

First and foremost, Edo citizens may sincerely, not cherish the fact that a former governor, of the same state, is playing such a crucial role and that sounds to them like godfatherism, hence, they may rather vote for a man, who decided to be without godfathers.

Even more, as the governor of Edo State, surely has a strong followership, hence, he may be unperturbed by the presence of Adams Oshiomole.

You may recall that over 500 members of the APC in Edo State, defected to the PDP and this goes a long way to state that Governor Godwin Obaseki, is truly a force to reckon with in Edo State and such, fears no opposition.

Indeed, the political sphere is really tense in Edo State and many excitedly await the September 19 elections.
