Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 Nigerian election, has vowed to challenge the process of the presidential election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in February. In an interview with Arise News, Obi stated that he was not challenging the outcome of the election, but the process by which INEC arrived at the results.
Obi also revealed that he will go through both legal processes and peaceful protests to obtain the electoral collating materials as ordered by the court. He encouraged Nigerians to remain calm as he takes on this challenge.
Although he denied having any partnership with Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Obi reiterated that both parties are challenging a flawed electoral process.
Furthermore, Obi endorsed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos State, describing him as the best candidate.
Obi addressed concerns about his lack of experience in Nigerian politics and public service, stating that politics is a collaboration between the young and the old, and that one could learn to serve the people while doing his job.
With the promise of using legal means to address the flawed electoral process, Peter Obi remains a prominent figure in Nigerian politics.
