Keyamo: Petitions Hearing Can't End Before May 29

Those calling for the determination of presidential election petitions before May 29 are “plainly ignorant or crassly mischievous,” Minister of State for Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo has said. Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), argued that for such to happen, an amendment to some sections of the Constitution and court rules must be undertaken. 

“In the future, it is possible to amend our laws and rules of court to accommodate such an idea, but it is impossible under our present circumstances,” he explained in a statement yesterday.

El-Rufai Commissions Gombe Trust Feed, Commends Investor

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai at the weekend, commissioned a private factory, Trust Feeds Limited in Gombe commending the investor for the gesture and Investment which he said will provide employment opportunities for teeming Gombe youths.

While commissioning the factory, Nasir El-rufai said, “I am proud of him, when he wanted to invest, he could not invest in Kaduna, he came back to Gombe, his hometown and invested, I congratulate the Governor of Gombe and hope that he will come to Kaduna and open a branch.”

Police Neutralise Notorious Bandits, Recover Motorcycle In Kaduna

The Police Command in Kaduna State says its operatives have neutralised a notorious bandit and recovered an operational motorcycle in the Kidandan village of Giwa Local Government Area of the state.

The Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday in Kaduna.

Ogun Ready To Hold World-Class Festival - Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says the 2024 National Sports Festival billed to take place in the State will be nothing short of a world-class event, The PUNCH reports. Abiodun stated this after a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and the Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development was signed.

Ogun was confirmed as host of the biennial event at the closing ceremony of the 21st edition of the festival in Asaba, the Delta State capital last December. Sports minister Sunday Dare, who represented the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), at the closing ceremony, said Ogun emerged tops after the rigorous selection process.
