The Supreme Court has confirmed Umo Eno as the PDP Governorship Candidate for Akwa Ibom State, dismissing Micheal Enyong’s appeal for lacking in merit.
In the judgment delivered by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji the Apex court upheld the decision of the Abuna division of the Court of Appeal.
The appellate court on the 21st of February sacked Micheal Enyong as the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP for Akwa Ibom State and restored Umo Eno whose nomination by the party was set aside by a Federal High Court.

In an appeal filed by the PDP against the Federal High Court judgment of January 20, Justice Akawu agreed with counsel for the PDP, Paul Usoro and Uwemedimo Nwoko that the Federal High Court judgment was delivered in error and that the court was misled by the plaintiff in the matter. .
