As the November governorship election in Anambra State draws near, Political parties and leaders have continued to make effort to ensure they win the forthcoming contest with the South Eastern State. The latest Political leader who have joined his voice with others is the Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
Governor Wike who who addressed the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday in Enugu State to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders said, the Peoples Democratic Party should work hard to ensure they reclaim Anambra State which happened to be a PDP State before they lost it.
The Rivers State Governor also warned that it will not if the Peoples Democratic Party fails to win Anambra governorship election, it will not augur well for the party, particularly the South East.
Governor Wike also urged the National Working Committee of the PDP to allow Governors to oversee both the Congress and the governorship primary election in Anambra State to enable it win the election.
After the meeting with the South East PDP Stakeholders in Enugu State today, Monday, below is the statement released by Kelvin Ebiri, the Special Adviser on Media to the Rivers State Governor:
The meeting was attended by Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Senate President and Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Enugu State Governor, Sam Egwu, former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, former Anambra State Governor and 2019 Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, among other PDP Stakeholders in South East.
